Our story started in 1989 when two friends, Chris Chantler and Craig Arseneau, were captivated by the beauty of Vail, Colorado, while watching the World Skiing Championships from a friend’s house in Switzerland. Inspired, they moved to Vail, opened The Daily Grind Coffee Company, and quickly became a cornerstone of the community. From there, they expanded into roasting, eventually becoming Vail Mountain Coffee & Tea, with a mission to bring the best sustainably sourced coffee to Colorado and beyond.

VMCT coffee is roasted at 8,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies, where cooler temperatures allow for a slow, smooth caramelization of the beans, bringing out rich flavors without bitterness. Our high-altitude roasting process, combined with over 30 years of experience, ensures each cup delivers a flavor that reflects both our passion and dedication to sustainability.

We source our coffee from sustainable, small-scale farms around the world. Our direct relationships with farmers ensure that our beans are grown responsibly, with a focus on supporting both the land and the communities involved. From shade-grown coffees to organic and bio-dynamic farms, every bean has a story.

We offer a variety of roast levels and coffee profiles, so whether you’re using a Chemex, French press, or a classic drip machine, you’ll find a roast that fits your brewing method perfectly. Light roasts shine in pour-over methods, while dark roasts are perfect for French press or drip.

To preserve the bold, clean flavors of VMCT coffee, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Avoid refrigeration or freezing, as moisture can compromise the beans’ quality. For the freshest experience, grind your coffee just before brewing.

Yes, we do! Our decaf coffee is crafted using a natural water process to remove caffeine while preserving the rich, full-bodied flavor you love. It’s perfect for those late-night moments when you still want to enjoy the perfect cup without the buzz.

We offer free standard ground shipping on all U.S. orders over $35. Orders under $35 have a fixed shipping rate of $10. We also offer UPS 2nd Day Air for those who need their coffee in a hurry! Standard orders ship within 24 hours and typically arrive within 3-8 business days.

Sure can! We offer local pickup from our Roastery Cafe in Minturn, just select local pick up when placing your order at the checkout.

Pickup orders are typically ready within 24hrs. If you're in a hurry, pop in to one of our cafes as they offer most of our coffees for sale. 

Once your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a tracking number, allowing you to follow your coffee’s journey from our roastery to your door.

Yes! You can set up a subscription and choose to have your coffee delivered every 2, 4, 6, 8, or 12 weeks. It's an easy way to ensure you always have fresh coffee at home. Plus, you can change, pause, or cancel your subscription at any time.

Simply log into your account, and you’ll have full control over your subscription. You can adjust delivery frequency, swap coffee blends, or cancel altogether. If you need help, our customer service team is just a message away!

If you receive an incorrect or damaged item, please contact us right away. We’ll arrange for return shipping at no cost and expedite a replacement order within one business day. For any other inquiries, reach out to customer service before returning the item to ensure a smooth process.

Due to the perishable nature of coffee, we cannot accept returns on coffee once it has been opened. However, if there’s an issue with your order, please reach out, and we’ll do our best to make it right!
